Why we ask this
A registered-office shift takes one of three routes, and the route decides the procedure. Within the same city, a board resolution and INC-22 within 30 days is enough. Outside the city but within the same RoC, a special resolution plus MGT-14 precedes INC-22. A cross-state move additionally needs Regional Director approval on INC-23, a newspaper publication, and a 21-day window for creditors to object — which is why cross-state shifts run noticeably longer than the other two.
