Why we ask this
Renaming a company runs in four movements: name reservation through RUN, a shareholder special resolution filed on MGT-14, central-government approval on INC-24, and finally a fresh Certificate of Incorporation issued on INC-25. The PAN, TAN, and GSTIN survive the rename, but the name shown on each — along with bank accounts, licences, and contracts — has to be updated separately after MCA approves. Two proposed names (in order of preference) is what the RUN form asks for.
